A COMMUNITY FOR CONTEMPORARY THEATRE
Valley Road Theatre Company was founded in 2022 by Alex Gross ('29). We create modern, immersive experiences, bringing creatives of all disciplines together. Imagine crawling into a bomb shelter at the end of the world, revealing the secrets of a small town, peering into a secret midnight tryst, or exploring an empty church by candlelight. All of our work is highly collaborative, and we can't wait to work with you on our next project! Come join our community!
WHO? VRTC was founded by Alex Gross ('29). Our current team features Yalies across all years, majors, and interests. We work with performers, designers, writers, producers, and more.
WHAT? First and foremost, a fun, highly collaborative community! Together, we create contemporary immersive experiences. Many of our productions adapt classic novels or myths, such as 1984, The Overcoat, Winesburg Ohio, The Tell-Tale Heart, and The Epic of Gilgamesh.
WHERE? During the school year, we produce shows in New Haven. We take over unconventional buildings and set our shows across expansive, redesigned environments. Past work has seen us take over a WWI bowling alley, a three-story parish hall, a seaside chapel, a nursery school, and traditional stages.
WHEN? RIGHT NOW!! We are actively building our team for The Sun Also Rises, an upcoming production. Auditions will be held during the first casting cycle.

Sheffield Scientific led audiences on a path to nuclear armageddon, experiencing their final dreams and memories. The cast was Jordan Mincy ('26), Abram Knott ('27), Abigail Murphy ('27), Eason Rytter ('27+1), Madeleine Ford ('29), Alyssa Marvin ('29), and Hadley Murphey ('29).
